Ober had to leave in the 2nd with a mild shoulder strain which won't keep from his next start and the struggling-of-late bullpen responded magnificently, going a combined 7.2 1 0 0 1 13 the rest of the way.

An important victory in the rubber game, giving the Rays their first series win in their last six since they took 3 of 4 from Baltimore in early July.

Next up: The never-ending road trip takes us to Sacramento for 3 against the A's.

Rays News: He's back in the organization. Texas released catcher Jonah Heim, so good two years ago and once a Rays farmhand, and we signed him to a minor league deal. Catcher has always been a position of need although right now Jansen and Thaiss have the position locked down at the big league level.
