The
Montreal Expos locked up a win at Comerica Park, knocking off the
Detroit Trains, 4-2. On the mound for
Montreal was right-hander
Marty Murrietta. He played a major role in the triumph.
Paul Ide was credited with the save, his 2nd in 2 tries. The defeat makes
Detroit 51-45.
Murrietta tossed 109 pitches over 7 innings to clinch the win for the
Expos. The right-hander allowed just 2 hits, while racking up 9 strikeouts in the game.
"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said
Murrietta.

Trains Score Late to Nip Expos, 4-3
Detroit Trains starter
Dan Rabalais found his groove in his team's 4-3 win over the
Montreal Expos. The loss makes
Montreal 60-36.
Jordan Rios was the walk-off hero for
Detroit. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the
Trains designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home. He is batting .265-8-33 .739OPS 0.0WAR in 63 games.
Detroit manager Andy Musa commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."

Conditions were not ideal but

Detroit were able to put their game in the books.
The
Montreal Expos picked up a win at Comerica Park, taking down the
Detroit Trains, 5-3. Starting pitcher
Brett Asselin was a big reason why.
Asselin yielded 3 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 4, and struck out 3. His record improves to 11-4.
Julian Hernandez, who is tied for 3rd in the EL in doubles with 25, helped out the
Montreal cause in the top of the sixth inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the third baseman was 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

Kansas City Royals, 3-2. On the mound for

Austin Roy, who played a pivotal role in the win.
Roy picked up the win for

Roy said.

Montreal pitcher and San Juan, Puerto Rico, native
Marty Murrietta led the way.
Austin Williams earned his 10th save in 10 chances. The
Expos have an impressive 64-36 record.
Ian Messer hit a 2-run double off
Kevin Ward in the bottom of the second, which put the
Expos in front, 3-1. In addition to the double,
Messer had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
After the game,
Montreal manager Aaron McCreery applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
