The
Montreal Expos coasted to a win over the
Arizona Diamondbacks, 11-3.
Matt Talbert had a good day at the plate for
Montreal. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once.
Juan Miranda, who is tied for 8th in the EL with a 1.22 WHIP, was the winner. He's now 6-6. The loser was
Jonathan Bashor. The first-place
Expos have won 5 in a row.

Talbert hit a sinker from
Jonathan Bashor for a grand slam home run. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the

Rich Meilleur contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a sinker to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 85th hit of the season and put the

Montreal Upended, 2-0, by Vancouver
Enthusiastic fans came out to support the home team at Canadians Field.
Vancouver pitcher
Billy Gerovac did his part in helping his team beat the
Montreal Expos, 2-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. In 5.1 innings,
Gerovac surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 2. He allowed no runs.
The
Canadians got a big at-bat from shortstop
Cole McGuire. For the game,
McGuire went 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 25th double of the season gave
Vancouver a 2-0 lead.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said
Gerovac.
The loss makes
Montreal 66-37.

Expos Bounce Back to Win, 6-2, Versus Vancouver
The
Montreal Expos downed the
Vancouver Canadians, 6-2, at Canadians Field.
Rich Meilleur led the way, going 3-for-4 for
Montreal.
Montreal pitcher
Pablo Mendoza got the win. He's now 3-1.
Edgar Padilla was tagged with the loss. With the victory, the
Expos upped their record to 67-37.
Fernando Perez came through with a big-time hit for
Montreal. The second baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch. The 23-year old is batting .246-25-60 .821OPS 1.8WAR in 76 games.

Montreal Expos, 5-4. The hitting star was catcher
Jake Williams.
Williams was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the
Canadians. The 3x All-Star is batting .299-22-55 .895OPS 3.1WAR in 85 games.

The decisive blow was delivered by
Andy Lanphier in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a solo home run off 25-year old left-handed pitcher
Paul Ide to win the game for
Vancouver. The home crowd went nuts.
