The Scherzer (and Trea Turner!) trade was catastrophic for the Gnats. Keibert Ruiz has never hit, will never hit, and is all around terrible and they keep pretending he's not. Josiah Gray had a good season and then immediately had his arm come off. And the other two prospects in the deal were last seen playing in Mexico.
That being said, the Mets might have done worse when they shipped in Javier Baez.
