Nuka Tournament: Four Teams Play for 2316 Cup
Two more series per regional tournament are now done, and we are down to the Final Four. Only one previous champion remains, and the odds have to favor them.
Vault 81 Regional
Round 3:
Glowing Sea 2, Fort Hagen 1 - Fort Hagen eliminated
Regional Final (Winners' Bracket team starts with 1-0 lead in Best of 5):
Vault 81 3, Glowing Sea 2
The defending champions and one-time Nuka Cup champions (2313), the Dwellers mowed down Glowing Sea in the full five games, winning the final game, 4-2, to move on to the Semifinals. The team designated as the visitor team in the series won all four games played.
Easy Town Regional
Round 3:
Atom 2, Roxbury 1 - Roxbury eliminated
Regional Final (Winners' Bracket team starts with 1-0 lead in Best of 5):
Southie 5, Atom 0
With the four-game sweep of Atom and the 5-0 series win, the Brews have now won eight straight games entering the Semifinals. In that eight-game streak, the Brews have allowed 2, 2, 1, 3, 1, 2, 0, and 3 runs. Southie is expected to have one of the better pitching staffs in the CBO, which could lead to an interesting season if the offense can do enough to earn them a playoff spot.
Lexington Regional
Round 3:
Lexington 2, Malden 1 - Malden eliminated
Regional Final (Winners' Bracket team starts with 1-0 lead in Best of 5):
Lexington 3, Oberland 2
The host Synths had to battle through the Losers' Bracket to knock off Malden and then exact revenge over the T-51s to reach the Semifinals. The Synths reached the Finals in both the Nuka Cup and Sole Survivor Series last season, so they are looking to rectify both of those championships this season. Lexington could face off against the Dwellers again, as they did in a great Series last season.
University Point Regional
Round 3:
Sunshine Tidings 2, University Point 1 - University Point eliminated
Regional Final (Winners' Bracket team starts with 1-0 lead in Best of 5):
The Slog 3, Sunshine Tidings 2
The Ghouls won 5 of 7 matchups against the Chemists, a surprise team vying for a Nuka Cup championship. Just two seasons removed from a championship, The Slog is showing why they are a serious contender still, despite a disappointing 2315 where they lost the play-in game to Concord for the last wildcard spot.
