Chicago Slaps 3-2 Loss on Montreal
The
Chicago Rangers picked up a win at Olympic Stadium, courtesy of
Carlos Botello. The right-hander helped his team stop the
Montreal Expos, 3-2.
Chicago is now 66-67,
Montreal 81-51.
"I felt great. Had good rhythm with my mechanics," said
Botello.
Chicago used a well-timed hit by
Edwin Jimenez to capture the win. The center fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the
Rangers ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important. The 2x All-Star is batting .280-3-29 .735OPS 51/54SB 1.7WAR in 95 games.

The
Montreal Expos cut down the
Chicago Rangers by the score of 8-4, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman
Dave Grochowski.
Grochowski went 4-5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the
Expos.
Grochowski told a Montreal Herald reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win. The 2x All-Star is batting .336-24-94 .967OPS 3.8WAR in 121 games.
Austin Roy, the winning pitcher, is now 15-5. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits, while fanning 6 and walking 2.
Montreal is now 82-51.
Chicago is 66-68.

Yoshimura Schools Montreal in 3-0 Chicago Triumph
The
Chicago Rangers picked up a win at Olympic Stadium, knocking off the
Montreal Expos, 3-0. Starting pitcher
Reizo Yoshimura was a big reason why.
Austin Berry was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 24 of 33 save opportunities. The
Rangers improved their record to 67-68 by beating
Montreal.
Yoshimura delivered a quality start for
Chicago. The 5-foot-11 right-hander allowed no earned runs on 3 hits over 7.1 innings of work.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'"
Chicago manager Brett Morse said.
