The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a win at Rogers Centre, dropping the Kansas City Royals, 5-4. Mitch White, who is tied for 9th in the AL in wins with 3, was the difference-maker. Tim Mayza was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. The Royals fall to 10-20 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2024 season. Tommy Pham, who finished 4th in the NL in stolen bases with 25 in 2017, came through for Toronto with a 2-run double in the bottom of the eighth. The left fielder went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 3 runs batted in.

"Thought I threw pretty well and overall, I felt good," said White.

Our pitching is what took us out of this game. I’m having doubts about Brady Singer performing better, and I’ve doubted this bullpen since the season started, except for a couple of standouts. I’d like to see them turn it around soon.

The Kansas City Royals picked up a win at Rogers Centre, knocking off the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-1. Starting pitcher Cole Ragans was a big reason why. Ragans yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-1.

The Blue Jays fall to 12-19 and continue their lackluster start in 2024. With no one out in the bottom of the eighth, Cavan Biggio had a chance to do some damage. Toronto was trailing 3-0 but had runners on 1st and 3rd. Biggio came to the plate against John Schreiber and hit into a double play. But it was not enough to complete a Toronto comeback.

“This one feels good, really good!” said Todd “BigP” Pollard in the press conference after the game. “We put a solid performance together, and the guys really jelled tonight!

Cole Ragans had another great outing. He’s carried the team well since Seth’s injury, and it will be nice to get him back so they both can pitch great games in succession.

Led by Hunter Renfroe, the Kansas City Royals downed the Toronto Blue Jays, 10-2. Renfroe went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 4 for the Royals. Angel Zerpa was the winning pitcher. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and no strikeouts. The Blue Jays fall to 12-20 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2024 season. The game turned with two out in the top of the fourth. That's when Renfroe hit a 2-run home run off Jose Berrios. It propelled the Royals into the lead, 2 0.

"I really like what we did out there today," Renfroe said after the game.

I like what we did in this series! We took the series 2-1 and put 2 great games together with offense and decent pitching. I’m glad we have ended this month on 2 consecutive wins and some solid play. I’m optimistic about our chances, but not going to fool myself with any delusions of more than a winning season. We’re still a long way off from the playoffs and have many obstacles to overcome before we start thinking about that.
