The season's already on the brink....
A tough start to the playoffs for the Rays as they couldn't get the big hit when they needed it while the Angels parlayed a couple of homers into a 3-1 win, meaning the Rays will have to win the next two days to advance. Taj was great for 5 innings before giving up a 2-run homer to Jakob Marsee and the legendary Mike Trout touched Baumeister for a solo shot in the 8th. The Rays had baserunners in seemingly every inning and had no greater opportunity than in the bottom of the 8th when Mead got his 3rd hit of the day and Caminero doubled him over to third with nobody out but Isaac and Cruz struck out and Morel flied to center. They went down meekly 1-2-3 in the 9th and now will need Pepiot (and some hitting) to save them tomorrow.
