2022 Season Notes

On the eve of the season Chicago pulled off a trade with Cleveland sending MR Arnold Carpenter and 2B prospect Antonio Navarro to the Corsairs for 1B Albert Massey, immediately improving their offense, while Oklahoma City’s pitching staff took a hit when A.J Merriweather injured his shoulder shelving him until July.
April 6th - LA’s Gabriel Mendez hit his fourth home run of the season taking his career total to 299, he was joined on 299 in the race for 300 HR by Juan Santos later the same day when he hit his first of the season.

April 7th - Tampa Bay slugger Juan Santos won the race to 300 when he drove a wayward Reed Bush fastball deep into the left field bleachers to become the first player in NABL history to hit 300 homeruns, Bush and his New Orleans teammates had the last laugh though, taking the game 6-4.

May 6th - Phoenix starter Mark Hayes became the first pitcher in NABL history to hit a grand slam, his moment in the sun came when he launched a Billy Moss fastball into the stands helping his Eagles to a 9-5 victory over Las Vegas.

June 23rd – New York LF Francisco Martinez hit the DL for the second time on the season, this time a strained back muscle would sideline him for six weeks.
July 3rd - Kansas City said goodbye to 2B Marcus Witt when they traded him to Houston for prospects C Ruben Rea and 1B Ryan Davis, the former batting champion had seen his playing time diminish with the emergence of Jack Underwood and with his contract running out at seasons end, Kansas City decided to cash in rather than lose him for nothing.
