Season Pass Association

15 September 2316

It went three one way. Then it went three the other. In the end, it came down to one game. And the winner is . . .

The creme de la creme of Season Pass Association baseball are the Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers. The team just put away the Quartz Star Force 8-0 to capture the overall title. The Fog Crawlers finished the Star Force off 4 games to 3. Speaking with reporters after the victory, the Fog Crawlers manager Greg Hammerberg extolled his team, "It was pure bliss this season. From day one they put their hearts and souls into this team. When you have talented players and they work hard and play together, it doesn't take much to manage them. All I did was make the lineup card and let 'em play." During the Vim! League Fog Division regular season, the Fog Crawlers finished first in the standings, posting a record of 58-32.

Dalton Farm won the first three games in the series, 5-4, 5-4, 2-0. The Star Force then took the next three, 10-2, 1-0 in 11 innings, and 15-5.

Steady Mike Holmes was the Series MVP. In two starts, Holmes was 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 15.0 innings pitched, including six shutout innings in Game 7. His totals for the series were seven hits allowed, three walks, and five strikeouts. Holmes was a long-time pitcher for Eden Meadows of the Vim! League before being traded to the Crawlers last season. He is 8th all-time in career wins (111) in the Vim! League.

This marks the Fog Crawlers fifth Season Pass Association championship. They lead both the Vim! League and SPA in championships with five. Cherry of the NWL is second in SPA championships with three. Both the Ghoulrillas and Victory are the all-time championships leaders in the NWL with five apiece.

Star Force Win Nuka Series

It was all about winning for the Quartz Star Force -- and win they did.

There was nothing fancy in how they went about it, players said, they just prepared mentally and physically and then went out and played baseball.

"We did the little things right and we did the big things right," said shortstop Conall Cra Bhuidhe, who was named series MVP. "Now we're the league champions."

Quartz defeated the Victory Cave Crickets by a score of 6-1 at John-Caleb Bradberton Honorary Field to take the series 4-3.

"Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you make your own luck," said Quartz manager Kyle Hooch. "We got lucky a few times, but mostly we did the right things by being prepared for each game and playing the game the way it's meant to be played."

Dalton Farm Tops Acadia for 5th Title

It's party time in Dalton Farm. The confetti is flying and residents are smiling.

The Dalton Farm Fog Crawlers have reached the mountaintop, capturing the 2316 Vim! Series today. They defeated the Acadia Acadians 4-3 at Blood Tide Stadium to officially wrap up the series 4-2.

Asked how it feels to be a champion, center fielder Singer Na was to the point.

"It feels great, like a million bucks. I'm so happy right now, not just for me but for all the guys," he said. "We put a lot of work into this and deserve to be champions."

The team is planning a victory parade and fan appreciation day later in the week. Dalton Farm finished the regular season 58-32 and claimed first place in the Vim! League Fog Division.
