The success of 2053 season left the Giants with the 26th pick in what Stewart viewed as a weak college class. As a result, the Giants went with the first HS 1st Rounder of Stewart’s tenure, as they selected RF Giedrius Kern, and 18-year old out of Elk Grove, California. The OF has an average glove, but projects plus contact and power, with an average eye and gap ability. While he is lacking in speed, he has a positive personality, with good adaptability as well as work ethic.
