MLB Standings

The Giants are running away with the NL West and look set to go back-to-back as division champions for the first time since the 2035 / 2036 seasons. They are 9 G up on the Cardinals for the best record in the NL and still have the third best record in all of baseball, although the Royals and Angels look to be comfortably the best two teams this season.

San Francisco Results

A mixed month with some disappointing series defeats – 1-3 in Washington, and 1-2 in Milwaukee – but they also took a series in LA against the Angels so it’s hard for Stewart to be too disappointed, especially with the overall 15-12 record for the month.

The bats continue to struggle as the season comes to a close, with only Kevin Dobbs and Ben Thomas really earning their corn this past month. The outfield continues to be a concern and September roster expansion may well see some new faces given some At-Bats to try to kickstart the efforts.

Not quite as dominant as July, it is still a good month with Chris Krupa settling in immediately with a 75 FIP- in his 5 GS, with 28.0 IP a solid if not spectacular return.

In the pen, Cason Willard was at least respectable, although Dan Caines and David Silva both struggled during the month.

Transactions & Injuries

Limited action from the Giants in August with just some roster management around the bullpen seeing some players moving around. This was necessitated by the return from injury of Josh O’Neal but, with September 1 rolling around, roster expansion shall limit the challenges of too many arms.
