Rockies End July On Fire!

After a challenging road trip to start the second half, our Colorado Rockies returned to Mile High Stadium and caught fire, winning 10 of their last 13 games to close out July! This impressive stretch has injected a massive dose of optimism into the clubhouse and the fanbase.

The Homestand Surge
The Rockies' hot streak began immediately upon their return home, following a road trip that saw them take 2 out of 3 games from the Marlins. Once back in Denver, they truly hit their stride.

July 22nd vs St. Louis Cardinals: The Rockies kicked off their home stand with a thrilling 5-4 extra-inning victory over the Cardinals. Derrick May delivered the clutch run-scoring sacrifice fly in the 11th inning, capping a solid performance by Armando Reynoso.

July 23rd vs St. Louis Cardinals: Dwight Gooden was the star in an 8-4 win, dominating the Cardinals with 8 innings of one-run ball, striking our 9. Lance Johnson hit his second home run of the season, and the offense put up 8 runs on 11 hits.

July 24th vs St. Louis Cardinals: The Rockies took the third game of the series with a 7-5 victory. Jacob Brumfield was a force, going 4-for-4 with a triple and two doubles. Pat Listach also blasted his first home run of the season, and Paul Abbott picked up the win.

July 25th vs St. Louis Cardinals: The winning streak was snapped in an 11-5 loss to the Cardinals. Despite 11 hits, the Rockies couldn't contain St. Louis's offense.

[July 26th vs Atlanta Braves: Terry Mulholland delivered a gem, pitching a complete game to lead the Rockies to a 3-2 win over the Braves. Sandy Alomar Jr. provided a key run-scoring groundout.

July 27th vs. Atlanta Braves: The Rockies continued their strong play against the Braves with a 5-3 victory. Geronimo Berroa was the offensive hero, going 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and four RBI. Armando Reynoso earned his fourth win.

July 28 vs. Atlanta Braves: Colorado completed the three game sweep of the Braves with an 8-3 win. Jacob Brumfield had another big game with a home run and three RBI, and Geronimo Berroa also went deep. Dwight Gooden picked up his seventh win.

July 30th vs. San Francisco Giants: The hot streak continued with an 8-5 win over the Giants. Troy Neel hit a crucial three-run home run in the eighth inning to break a tie, and Mark Gardner earned his first win as a Rocky.

July 31st vs San Francisco Giants: The Rockies closed out July with a dominant 5-1 win over the Giants. Darryl Kile, acquired in a recent trade, made a spectacular debut, pitching 7.1 innings of one-run ball with 10 strikeouts. Shawon Dunston hit his 11th home run of the season.

A Resurgent Rockies Squad
This incredible stretch has seen the Rockies improve their record to 49-55. The team's offense has come alive, with key contributions from players like Jacob Brumfield, Geronimo Berroa, Troy Neal, Shawon Dunston providing timely hitting and power. The pitching staff, bolstered by the recent trades and strong outings from both veterans and new faces like Darryl Kile, has also shown significant improvement.
