Hank Aaron upped his percentage of Hall of Fame votes to 45 per cent in his second year on the ballot. That's up from 37 per cent. Pedro Martinez became the second player to receive enough votes to move on to a second year of consideration following the 1960 season. I'm pulling for both these guys to get over the hump and enter the Hall.

Hugh Duffy came into the league this year as part of the inaugural draft. Hugh was the number 1 pick in the draft. Another guy with pre-1901 statistics. Fred Clarke just finished the 1960 season with a .365 batting average. Clarke toyed with the idea of hitting over .400 for the season till around mid August or so. So far, I haven't made up my mind if I like this new feature that allows guys from prior to 1901 to enter my random debut leagues. Clarke and Duffy should go a long way in helping me make up my mind. Cool thing is, if I don't like it, I will just go with 1912 as a minimum in the future.
