Cleveland Guardians pitcher Gavin Williams got it done at Progressive Field in a 6-0 shutout victory over the Kansas City Royals, shutting them down 3 hits.

"It was just one of those games where everything went right. I threw a lot of strikes," Williams said. "And the pitches they did get to hit, they didn't do anything with them."

The 24-year-old issued 1 walk and had 11 strikeouts in the Guardians' win. Checking out his stats for the season, Williams has registered 4 wins and 5 losses in 12 starts, posted a 3.45 ERA, and struck out 93 batters in 75.2 innings.

I’m trying to remember why I took this job. These are the games or series that you lose sleep over, wondering what I could have done differently or what did I not do right. I feel like it’s all my fault and that no matter what I do, I can’t put us into a winning mode. I don’t know, maybe the other teams are just that much better than us. Whatever…we have to get through this season at least close to .500, but I’m not sure we’ll keep it under 100 games lost at this point.

Anyway, tomorrow’s another game and a possibility for a win. Let’s hope.
