Toronto Pitcher of the Month: see below 😊
Toronto Position Player of the Month: see below 😊
We are cruising. A 10-18 month for the
Orioles made the hardest opposition for the division crown go away for now and our offense and starting pitching got hot at the same time to give us a 20-8 month.
That being said, we suffered some injuries… that may just make us stronger if we are honest.
Juan Gonzalez may just be the next superstar ace. Rated 70/60/60 potential with a 80 rated curveball, a 92-94 fastball with a lot of sink and a changeup that is still in development, as well as 70 rated stamina,
Gonzalez looks like a future workhorse… and is already better rated than poor
Chris Archer.
A scouting discovery from the
Mets in 2012, his first year in the minors in 2013 was a short one as he mainly pitched out of the bullpen in rookie ball, but in 2014 he quickly moved up through Short A(1.31ERA) to single A (4-10 3.88) to dominate AA in 2015 with a 15-4 2.54 170K year. And, he is only 20.
Now, other injuries.
Joe Sokolow will be back in a week and will get some AAA swings in before returning to the majors from his fractured rib, but we are surely excited to see him back here… and so is the ownership group as he filled their expectations for an upgrade at first base! That means, when he is back, one guy has to go down… and that will be
Adam Brzezinski.
One reason, his name is hard to type. Second reason, he has never hit well and performed to par. Third reason,
Ricardo Camacho has hit the cover off the ball through his first 28 games.
And, we nailed the closer’s role with
Kevin Buchanan. Sweet.
Around the league,
Justin Rimmele leads everybody on the planet with a 1.082OPS and 5.7 batting WAR, and leading the way for the best offense in baseball… 503 runs scored with a team .810OPS and a team .284 batting average…

With
Gonzalez, we shot our biggest AAA bullet.
Tommy Erikson did put in some development and still struggles at 4-3 5.31 and I still have questions about one time MLB starter
Daniel Norris who is now 4-9 5.46… DEVELOP YOU MUGS!
Also developing is our cheeky 3rd rounder R C
Peter Kilgore as the 19-year old is batting .342-14-42 1.061OPS in R Lincoln and another big news item: RHSP
Alejandro Melendez()19, 1.5/4.5*), our 7th rounder in 2015, developed a sinker and therefore moved more towards a groundball pitcher… instant making him a top 100 prospect.
