Open Positions:
NMBL Montreal Expos:
3B Coach – Tom Acevedo only lasted one year before going into retirement.
A+ Lexington Lugnuts :
Manager, Pitching Coach, Hitting Coach
We offered a chap named Jordan Portillo the 3B job as he is excellent in working with catchers, exactly the spot we need. The 43-year old has played some years in the minors, but no previous NMLB experience. As we welcome the Lexington Lugnuts to our organization from independent ball.. we need new personal for them and tried some young coaches with upside.

Hear me out.
Williams was pure luxus and had a good run, but is as costly as
Ide with less talent, and
Messer could be a sell high candidate.
Make decisions about free agents/minor league free agent
No NMLB players, some AAAA players that did not make the major league roster… we offered some minor league extensions, but at least 5-6 players will leave us.
Take a look at the owner goals
Our owner was happy with:
Team Record
Improve team stats
Increase Attendance
Long Term Outlook
Unhappy:
Upgrade at Center Field
Improve your international amateur finds
Fan interest
New Goals:
Reach the Playoffs
Acquire a Gold Glove Award winner
Increase attendance from 42028 to 47.000 per game
Improve Fan interest
Improve your international amateur finds
Reach the World Series in the next 5 seasons
Take a look at the new budget
And there we go. Our budget is up again to $202M. Attendance is up, playoff revenue is in, and overall, the owner is happy.
Comparing that to the rest of the league, out budget is ranked 12th out of 30. The
Sacramento Cavaliers have the lowest budget with $134M(-8M), the
Houston Astros the highest again with $290M(+2M).

Apart from the pitching programs, all of them are rather tricky, but we hope for a big score on them anyways. As for the minor programs, we start with
Benavides in outfield defense and
V-Rod for running, and we will try to get some improvement in those fields, mostly on defense…
Offseason Strategy:
Look for a trade that blows everyone away. As usual, the free agency class is very thin and so, we have to rely on the good old trade market to move things along. A star outfielder that replaces
Messer would be nice, a NMLB ready/close to ready reliever, maybe a hard hitting shortstop… trading is hard in this league as there is not that much high echelon talent available. Odds are, we keep
Messer and
Williams around and try
Rodriguez in the outfield…
About that, I lengthened the draft and set the international scouting discoveries up to 64 for 2024, with 32 the new normal from 2025 on. Reasoning is just that… lack of talent. There is little to no way to do a meaningful trade as every player above 3.5* is worth his weigh in diamonds times 10, and your players generate little to no value… I don’t want this to be easy, but the only way I’ve been able to make meaningful trades was eating salary on slightly overpaid veterans that I flip in three team deals, and even that way, you struggle to get really good talent.
Oh, some side news, we waived and DFA’ed LF
Huai-yu Mah today. The 28-year old hit .266-6-28 .738OPS -0.2WAR in AAA and definitely has no future with this team.
