It's nice to see Paul Goldschmidt getting ovations from the crowd at Busch Stadium this weekend. Usually, it's how and why the player left that affects such demonstrations, and Goldschmidt wasn't traded; he signed with the Yankees. But I looked it up, apparently
the Cardinals were not in the mood for making any offers to him after last season. Apparently, the crowd knows this. Savvy. Good for them.
