5. Pete Fairbanks, Tampa Bay Rays: 919,184

I pulled the trigger on the trade as proposed by Houston Astros GM Dana Brown. The Royals announced today the acquisition of 22-year-old minor league RHP Jose Fleury from the Houston Astros in exchange for 31-year-old LHP Josh Taylor and 23-year-old minor league RHP Steven Zobac.

"This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Royals, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams."

I think it’s a good move at this point in the season. So, we get RHP Jose Fleury starting in our High A minor league club.

The fans at Globe Life Field witnessed quite a game. Rangers third baseman Josh Jung left his mark on his team's 6-5 win over the Kansas City Royals. Jung was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for Texas in the contest. Texas reliever Andrew Heaney was the winner. His record is now 4-7. The losing pitcher was Alex Claudio. Texas got a knockout punch from Wyatt Langford. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Langford. The win for the Rangers lifted their record to 43-34.

We came close with this one. That’s been the standard for most of the season so far; we just can’t put the win over the threshold. Austin Nola ended up with a bruised hip from the hit by pitch he suffered in the game. He'll be DTD for about 3 days, so it's minor, thank goodness.
