MLB news: Sept. 26 -- Diamondbacks are playoff bound again
The Arizona Diamondbacks routed the San Francisco Giants 15-5 to assure themselves at least a wild-card berth in the upcoming National League playoffs.
This marks the fourth straight trip to the postseason for the D'backs and their fifth in the last six seasons.
Arizona (88-70) remains in the race for the championship in the National League West Division, trailing the Colorado Rockies by just a half-game with four games left in the regular season.
The D'backs last reached the World Series in 2023, when they fell to the Texas Rangers.
Arizona's lone World Series title game in 2001, when they defeated the New York Yankees in seven games.
