Andy Frederick bounces back as predicted, giving up only 17 H and 8 BB over 26.1 IP across his 4 GS for the month. Jorge Ramirez follows his lead and wraps up the Rooke of the Month Award, going 4-0 with a 3.50 ERA in 6 GS.

The bullpen had mixed returns with Josh Parker enjoying a strong first month of his season, fitting straight into a set up role.

Two major moves to start the month. Firstly, as expected, Josh Parker replaces Greg Hyder in the bullpen; a bullpen with more options, now, after LHP Nate Brodt elects to remain with the Giants on his MiL deal. The second move is to lock rookie Juan Magana into a long term deal. At $95m over 10 years, and the last two as TO deals, the Giants are betting Magana will put up more than 1 WAR each season with a contract that should be tradeable if the Giants reach the position where he isn’t in the best 14 positional players in the organisation. This is the first long term contract given out by Stewart, so the fans are keen to see how this plays out.
