It could be worse. Who takes over? There are two things that Jerry does to hurt the team, and I don't think that changes when he's gone.
1. He never extends his first round talent after 3 years. He always waits until after 4. This has a major impact on the cap.
2. He no longer goes after high priced free agent. Doesn't even consider it. It's like a house rule you'd do if the AI isn't strong enough. The better run organizations always consider it.
Stephen Jones has already said he would take less risk when Jerry is gone. Not that Jerry takes any risk now.
