Cards news: April 28 -- Hand injury will sideline 3B Nolan Gorman, OF Chase Davis called up from AAA
The St. Louis Cardinals have learned that third baseman Nolan Gorman will miss up to six weeks after he suffered a torn ligament in his thumb while making a play at third base during a 4-1 loss to the Seattle Mariners on April 26.
In 22 games/21 starts this season, the 28-year-old Gorman has hit .191 with four home runs and 10 RBIs.
Getting the call up from AAA Memphis is outfielder Chase Davis.
In 25 games with the Redbirds, Davis has hit .182 with four homers and 12 RBIs.
He has been in the majors before over the past couple of seasons.
With the Cardinals, Davis has hit .209 with six home runs and 30 RBIs in 72 games/59 starts.
