I am aware of this. Which is why I say the NFLPA should be disbanded & separate unions based on positions should replace it.

Teachers, sanitation workers, law enforcement, bus drivers all work for the city. But they don't have one union. Cause their jobs have different needs and concerns. So they have separate unions.

The NFL players should do the same. Cause they needs of the QB's aren't the same as the lineman, which aren't the same as the kickers, which isn't the same as the RB's. They operate @ different salaries, have a different quality of life after playing & have different career shelf lives.

The owners have 2 big advantages in negotiations. One, the NFL isn't their sole source of income. And two, most players will never get more than 5 years in the league. Long labor stoppage chips away at their best chance to earn their highest salary before heading to the "real" world. Owners have to just wait them out.

Separating the unions would allow the players to be more hawkish & holdout for better terms.
