Cards news: May 27 -- Reliever Joe Jimenez to miss up to three months with

The St. Louis Cardinals have learned that right-handed relief pitcher Joe Jimenez is expected to miss up to three months with a torn meniscus.
The 34-year-old suffered the injury while pitching in an 8-6 loss to the Washington Nationals on May 24.
This season, Jimenez has appeared in 24 games going 0-1 with two saves and a 3.70 ERA.
Jimenez had a strong season in 2028, when he pitched in 57 games going 1-2 with two saves and a 2.15 ERA.
He will be replaced on the roster by right-hander Tink Hence.
Hence, 26, started the season in the majors but was demoted to AAA Memphis after he struggled.
In eight games with St. Louis, he was 0-0 with a 10.29 ERA.
He was not much better with the Redbirds, getting into seven games.
Hence posted no record but had a 7.11 ERA.
