Game Summary – July 29th – White Sox Lose at Home, 5-3
The Chicago White Sox received a stellar performance from pitcher Garrett Crochet, but the Kansas City Royals still won, 5-3. Crochet pitched 6.1 innings of four-hit ball. This loss drops Chicago to 53-56. Kansas City capitalized on the timely hitting of Salvador Perez to secure the victory. The catcher hit a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to give the Royals a 4-3 lead. It was his only hit in five at-bats, but it proved to be a game-changer. Kansas City manager Todd "BigP" Pollard said his team played a "no-nonsense" game. MJ Melendez has been performing well over the last month. It’s great to see players succeed when we get close to crunch time.
