April Check-in
The season's around 20% gone and I'm pleased to announce we're not the worst team in the league (that dis-honor belongs to the Cincinnati Reds). A handful more series wins against the Mets, White Sox, White Sox again and Texans leave our record looking not so ugly compared to the cold start we had. A couple of our hitters have gotten hot and our bullpen is looking sturdy. Hopefully we can continue to ride this wave of positive results towards the end of the month. Anyway, here's some graphics I made emulating what would be the Atléticos social media posts:
The kid from Yucatán is the best of example of our solid bullpen. Rodríguez, Muñoz and Estrada have allowed a total of 3 runs in their 36.2 innings of work. Our 3.88 bullpen ERA is 9th best in the AL.
Despite cooling off towards the end of the month, a 15-game hitting streak keeps Duráns numbers up. He's been an unspectacular defender in center (-2.3 ZR) but he's made all of the routine plays and even a few of the more spectacular catches. His speed is truly an asset, he's projected to steal 57 bases this year.
We face some tough opponents in May in the Yankees, Dodgers and Giants but also others we could steal some wins from such as the Marlins, Angels and Blue Jays.
