A win is no longer simply a win to today's media and fans. It must be accomplished spectacularly, or people are disappointed and bored.
I like LSU coach Brian Kelly's responses to this nonsense in his post-game interview:
My bold.

Brian Kelly is not known as a diplomat. As much as he wants to pretend to be a down to earth guy, I think everybody that watches knows he's a phony.
In this regard, while I do love it when media is put in their place, asking questions about the offense is a fair inquiry. LSU had one TD drive. The 2 FG's came on drives of 12 & 14 yds. The other TD was an INT return. W/5 INT's they only managed 20 points. They scored 17 vs a very much now suspect Clemson team and managed only 23 @ home vs lowly regarded Louisiana Tech. Just 5 offensive TD's this year.
Kelly is trying to deflect from his team's real problems on the offensive side of the ball.
