Game 1: 2-4 L (11). LP-Stevenson (3-3). Starter-Buckman (5.1 5 2 2 1 8). HR-J.Jones (3), C.Williams (11). Pino and Rutschman needed rest and with Haro on the IL it was a makeshift lineup that didn't provide enough offense and they succumbed in the 11th when Stevenson gave up a 2-run homer.

Game 2: 10-3 W. WP-Vargas (10-5, 6 7 3 3 1 4). HR-Pino (36). Things looked rough early when Washington got 3 off Vargas in the 3rd to make it 3-0 but a 5-run rally in the 4th turned it around and Pino's 2-run homer in the 7th broke it open. Hardy had a big 2-run single in that 4th-inning rally.

Team record: 77-55. Still 2 up on Toronto. Next up: We return the favor by going to Washington to play a pair.
