We showed some great late-inning offense, and our bullpen continues to get the job done. At this point, however, I’m just trying to finish games to give the guys a chance to develop for next season.

The Kansas City Royals defeated the Los Angeles Angels, 10-4, in American League play at Kauffman Stadium. The standout performance was by Kansas City pitcher and Hackettstown, New Jersey, native Anthony Veneziano. The last-place Royals stand at 56-72. Kansas City took the lead, 5-4, on Sam Haggerty's fourth home run of the season. This three-run shot came off Los Angeles pitcher Ben Joyce in the bottom of the eighth.
