Cleveland Indians: 4th ALCS berth
1902 1919 1920 1921
Alright folks—hold onto your hats! The Indians have survived! Chief Wahoo and the Tribe pound the Mariners into the turf, 10-1, and advance to the ALDS for the third straight season, the fourth time in franchise history!
Seattle thought they had a shot? Forget it! Cleveland put up five runs before you could even finish your first hot dog, and that was all she wrote. Mike Niccolai—cooler than the other side of the pillow—goes eight innings, gives up just one run, and says “Thanks for coming, Seattle, don’t forget your luggage on the way out.”
How about Jesús Satiago? A couple of bombs in the series, and today he sets the tone early with a big fly. Pat Kresse says, “Yeah, I’ll join the party,” and puts one in the seats too. Everybody in the Tribe lineup’s hitting—13 knocks, 10 runs—and they looked every bit like the two-time champs gunning for number three.
And now the big question: who’s next? Yankees or Rangers. Doesn’t matter who it is, Cleveland will be favored, and let’s be honest—they’ve got their eyes on another trip to the Fall Classic.
FINAL SCORE—Indians 10, Mariners 1. Tribe takes the series, moves on, and the three-peat dream is very much alive!
