Mogadishu Seashells at Sheffield Mountain Hares - Series Recap

Game 1 – May 3rd, 2060
Mogadishu 13, Sheffield 5
The series opener at Kingfisher Park was one-sided as the Seashells hammered the Mountain Hares 13-5. Left fielder Andrew Gray was the difference-maker, going 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, and four RBI. J. Sutherland also had a strong day with a homer and three hits, while E. Ramirez added three RBI. Mogadishu piled up 21 hits in total, scoring in six different innings. Sheffield briefly rallied with homers from R. Graham and E. Ali, but poor pitching sank their hopes. Alois Herzog was battered for seven runs in just 3.2 innings. For Mogadishu, A. Valdivia steadied the mound with six innings of one-run ball, earning the win.
Player of the Game: Andrew Gray
Notes: S. Lung set a new Mogadishu regular season record with four walks in a single game.

Game 2 – May 4th, 2060
Sheffield 11, Mogadishu 7
Sheffield struck back with an 11-7 victory, powered by the bat of Espen Aas. The first baseman went 1-for-4 but delivered a huge three-run homer in the fourth inning to put the Mountain Hares ahead for good. N. Ngunda chipped in with three hits, including his 9th double of the season, while J. Sutherland went deep for Mogadishu in defeat. Both bullpens were shaky, but Sheffield’s offense proved relentless, scoring in five separate innings. Espen Ali took the win despite giving up five runs in five innings. Mogadishu’s starter J. Liang was roughed up for six runs in 1.2 innings.
Player of the Game: Espen Aas
Notes: Mogadishu SP Ji-wei Liang left injured after being struck by a ball, while Sheffield 3B Tristan Juhl was also hurt in a collision at a base.

Game 3 – May 5th, 2060
Mogadishu 10, Sheffield 4
The Seashells regained control with a 10-4 win, thanks to a big day from third baseman Marshall Connelly. He went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI, keying Mogadishu’s 15-hit outburst. N. Baidjanov also went deep, while D. Venturanza and E. Ramirez combined for four RBI. Sheffield’s only bright spot was D. Jula, who homered and drove in two. The Hares struggled to contain Mogadishu’s lineup, with starter A. Sandoval knocked out after 3.1 innings and five runs. Antonio Fiorito was solid for Mogadishu, pitching five innings and earning his third win of the year.

Game 4 – May 6th, 2060
Sheffield 13, Mogadishu 2
The Mountain Hares closed the series emphatically, routing Mogadishu 13-2. Left fielder Jesus Morales exploded for four hits, including a triple, a double, and two singles, while driving in two runs and scoring three times. N. Ngunda added three hits and three stolen bases, while Sheffield racked up 17 hits overall. Mogadishu were limited to just two runs on nine hits and looked lifeless at the plate. L. Saville picked up the win for Sheffield with 6.1 innings of two-run ball. Jorge Valdez was hammered for seven runs in under four innings for Mogadishu.

Series Recap
The four-game set finished in a 2-2 split. Mogadishu were powered early by Andrew Gray’s slugging and Marshall Connelly’s timely hitting, while Sheffield hit back behind Espen Aas’s long ball and Jesus Morales’ explosive finale. Injuries to Ji-wei Liang and Tristan Juhl added drama to a tightly contested series that leaves both clubs looking for consistency moving forward.
