It should be pointed out that despite the Mets threatening the 2007 Mets' record for "most days in a playoff spot w/o making the playoffs" and Tigers having surpassed the 2009 team's AL record total, it's a lot easier to "be in a playoff spot" now that Manly Manfred has redefined that to mean "ahead of the White Sox/Rockies". The Mets haven't been in a legitimate "playoff spot" since we infected, er, faced you.
Seriously, guys, you're making people forget the Philly Phold of 1964. And we have enough trouble already with people lying and claiming that 2007 was worse.
(I'm not saying that 6-17 down the stretch was good, but it's still better than 2-10. Or 0-7, as with the '87 Blow Jays.)
