
Game 128: Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Boston Red Sox
A brutal 1st inning was more than could be overcome, as the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks (66-63) blasted the Boston Red Sox (70-58) by a 10 to 3 score. The loss moves Boston in the wrong direction in the playoff hunt.
Diamondback starter Jordan Montgomery (9-11) pitched a decent game in which he allowed 3 earned runs on 7 hits and 3 walks while striking out 4 in 8 2/3 innings of play; Game Score 59. Scott McGough covered the final 1/3 inning in relief without permitting any further damage. At the plate, Joc Pederson (2 for 5, Run, 2 RBI, Sacrifice Fly), Geraldo Perdomo (2 for 3, 2 Runs, 2 Walks), and Gabriel Moreno (1 for 4, Double, Run, 3 RBI) made significant contributions.
