Rodriguez Swings Expos to 6-3 Win
The
Montreal Expos defeated the
Philadelphia Grizzlies by the score of 6-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder
Vicente Rodriguez.
Rodriguez was 4 for 4 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the
Expos on the day. Picking up the win was
Sam Griffin. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits. The right--hander struck out 6 and walked 0. The loss makes
Philadelphia 24-25.
Rodriguez contributed in the top of the second. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat among others that helped
Montreal get the win.

Expos right fielder
Ian Messer put his stamp on his team's 7-1 win over the
Philadelphia Grizzlies.
Messer was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for
Montreal in the contest.
Alejandro Corral picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 3-0. The win elevated the
Expos to 31-18.
"Winning never gets dull," said
Messer. The reigning Silver Slugger is batting .303-6-18 .819OPS 1.0WAR in 47 games, matching his 2023 numbers.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for
Fernando Perez? The
Montreal second baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the
Expos on top, 4-1. For the game,

Grizzlies Mow Down Expos, 12-2
The
Philadelphia Grizzlies picked up a win at Citizens Bank Park, topping the
Montreal Expos, 12-2. On the mound for
Philadelphia was left-hander
Ruben Torrez. He played a principal role in the triumph, pitching seven innings of 2-run ball and got the win.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one,"
Torrez said. The
Grizzlies improved their record to 25-26 with the win over
Montreal.
Jose Maldonado had a big grand slam home run for the
Grizzlies in the bottom of the third inning. With Philadelphia leading 5-2 and the bases loaded, he sized up a fastball from
Marty Murrietta, who is tied for 10th in the EL in quality starts with 6, and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the
Grizzlies on top, 9-2.

Sacramento Cavaliers, 6-2. On the mound for

Sacramento.

Montreal cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the second baseman drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.

Montreal leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth,
Meilleur hit a cutter from
Cesar Alvarado for a run-scoring double. It was his 5th double of the season and put the
Expos ahead, 2-0.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling,"
