Rubber match in Houston.

The Astros are pitching Victor Sanchez (17-8, 2.84).

The Giants have Pat Combs (8-6, 3.20).

I am hitting sixth.

We struck in the top of the 1st when Bryce Bernadin scored on an error by Harold Baines in left.
I came up with two out, Ryan Klesko on 3rd and Craig Grebeck on 2nd. I was hit by a pitch to load the bases.
Jason McFarlin singled, scoring Ryan, but Craig was thrown out trying to also score.

Giants lead 2-0

I took care of leadoff hitter Craig Biggio's grounder in the bottom half for the 1st out.

I came up in the 3rd with none out and Craig on 1st. I grounded out to Jay Bell at short, but advanced the runner.

I caught a Bell liner for the 1st out in the bottom of the 4th.

I came up in the 5th with one out and Craig on 1st. This time I hit one to the left-centre wall for a double. Craig went to 3rd.
Craig scored and I went to 3rd on a groundout by Jason.
I was left there.

Giants lead 3-0

I handled a Dwight Smith grounder for the 1st out in the bottom of the 5th.
I did the same to Tony Pena for the 2nd.

In the 6th, Jerry Browne scored on a double by Bryce.

Giants lead 4-0

I took care of a fielder's choice ball by Bell for the 2nd out in the bottom half.

I came up with one out in the 7th, now facing Shane Rawley. Andre Dawson made a great play in right to rob me of a hit.

I returned the favour on a towering pop for the 1st out in the bottom half.

With one out and a man on in the bottom of the 8th, Matt brought in Mark Ross.
I handled a Roberto Alomar grounder for the 2nd out.

I came up in the 9th with two out, Craig on 2nd, and Jeff Montgomery on the mound. While I was up, Craig went to 3rd on a wild pitch. Then I lined out to Alomar at 1st.

I caught a Dawson liner for the 1st out in the bottom of the inning.
Then I made a great play on a Smith grounder for the 2nd out.

We won, 4-0.

I went 1 for 4 with a double and a hit-by-pitch, as well as being very active on defense.

We have a travel day as we head home to face the Dodgers.
