Back to even...
Unlike his teammate Elijah Whitaker, Tony Guzman wasn't ready for prime time (or Coors Field) and the bats woke up too late in a 5-4 loss that saw the Rockies even up the series at 2. Guzman was hit for back-to-back-to-back homers in the 3rd inning after the Rays leveled things at 2, and while the bullpen was excellent in holding Colorado at 5 it wasn't until Rodrigo Aponte delivered a 2-run double in the 8th that they made a game of it, but he was stranded and they could only manage a 2-out walk in the 9th. So it'll be Jorge Barraza tomorrow and the way he's pitched lately and the park he's pitching in aren't inspiring a lot of confidence at the moment.
