Mike: “Alright, folks… strap in, ‘cause this one was a rollercoaster! Hartford Whalers goin’ toe-to-toe with the Long Island Islanders, and it comes down to the wire—10-7 Long Island! The crowd at UBS Arena, 43,612 strong, are losin’ their minds!”
Mad Dog: “I’m tellin’ ya, Mike… this was back-and-forth all day. Hartford jumps out early, Whalers get a couple runs in the first, they’re lookin’ good… but then Long Island just explodes in the fifth! Seven runs in one inning! SEVEN!”
Mike: “Gianfrancesco Arriola, 3 for 4, a home run, two singles, a walk, three RBI… the guy’s a one-man wrecking crew! And Jon Valenzuela, with runners on first and second, no outs… doubles to center, knocks in the go-ahead run! That’s clutch, folks!”
Mad Dog: “And don’t forget, Mike, Hartford’s battin’ too—Zuke with a homer, Arriola with another… seven runs! I mean, it’s like a fireworks show out there. Bases loaded, runners all over the place… what a game!”
Mike: “But the Islanders get it done, the crowd is wild, and now the series is tied 3-3. Monday, it’s all on the line in Hartford Civic Center. You’ve got the defending champs fightin’ to stay alive, and the Whalers looking to punch their ticket. I tell ya, this is playoff baseball at its finest!”
Mad Dog: “And the pitching… forget about it. Mäntymaa gives up eight hits, seven runs… Pastor gives up eight hits, four runs… this game was just a slugfest from start to finish!”
Mike: “Player of the Game? Gianfrancesco Arriola. No doubt. The guy carries Long Island, and the series now comes down to one game. I’m tellin’ ya, Monday is gonna be crazy!”
Mad Dog: “43,612 fans, clear skies, 12 mph wind… doesn’t matter! This game was all about the bats! Back-and-forth, back-and-forth… Long Island comes out on top, 10-7. Unreal!”
Mike: “Series tied, 3-3. Game 7 in Hartford. If you’re a baseball fan, you do not wanna miss this one!”
Mad Dog: “I don’t care if you’re a Whalers fan or an Islanders fan… this is what you live for!”
