We are going for the sweep at home against L.A. and out fifth win in a row.
In a season like this one, this feels like our World Series.
Today the Dodgers are pitching Brian Bohanon (7-2, 3.34).
The Giants have Rick Sutcliffe (7-12, 3.65).
I am hitting seventh.
The Dodgers opened the scoring int eh 1st when Pat Listach crossed on a Bernard Gilkey double.
Dodgers lead 1-0
I came up in the 2nd with two out and Tim Naehring on 1st. I walked on four pitches.
We were left there.
In the 4th, Shawn Manuel hit a solo homer.
Dodgers lead 2-0
I caught a Phil Plantier liner for the 2nd out in the 5th.
But then Bohanon scored on a Gary Sheffield single.
Dodgers lead 3-0
I led off the bottom of the 5th by reaching 2nd on a throwing error by Listach at short.
I went to 3rd when Listach made another trowing error, allowing Jason McFarlin to reach 1st safely.
Jason then stole 2nd.
I scored and Jason went to 2nd on a one out, infield single by Mark Lewis.
Jason scored on an Antonio Martinez sac fly.
Dodgers lead 3-2
Bryan Hickerson took the ball for us in the 6th.
I came up in the bottom of the 6th, with one out and Jerry Browne on 2nd. They brought Darren Holmes in to face me. I singled up the middle, moving Jerry to 3rd.
Jerry scored and I went to 2nd on a pinch hit single by Bryce Bernadin.
A pinch hit single by Aaron Morris loaded the bases.
Bryce and I scored on a single by Mark, giving us the lead!
Aaron and Mark scored on a single by Antonio!
Giants lead 7-3
Heathcliff Slocumb relieved for us in the 7th. Also, Ryan Klesko and Jesse Barfield entered the game after those pinch hitting changes.
I led off the 7th, now facing Jeff Parrett, and I flew out to Plantier in right.
Mark Ross was next up for us in the 8th.
I started a Priske - Grebeck - Lewis double play to end the frame for him.
I took care of a Plantier grounder for the final out of the game.
That is a sweep of the Dodgers and five wins in a row!
(Yes, we are 62-87 - the worst record in the NL. Don't yuck my yum.)
I went 1 for 3 with a single, a walk, a reached-on-error, and two runs scored.
Now we are heading to San Diego for two games.
