The St. Louis Cardinals have learned that IF/OF James Triantos and Pittsburgh relief pitcher Jose Soriano have been suspended after Triantos charged the mound after being hit by a pitch in the eighth innings during a 6-3 loss on August 12.
Triantos will miss three games. Soriano will have to sit for six.
