June 4-10, 2029

June 4: vs NY Yankees 4-3 W (10). WP-Hennen (3-0). Starter-Misiorowski (4.2 4 0 0 3 11). HR-Westburg (9). Rays just keep pulling them out, this time overcoming McMillon's blown save in the 9th and the Yankees going ahead in the 10th when C.Williams' 2-run single won it in the bottom of the inning. Meanwhile Misiorowski had his most dominant game as a Ray.

June 5: vs NY Yankees 7-6 W (11). WP-Mercedes (2-1). Starter-Bradley (6 8 1 1 0 9). HR-Caminero (9). The Cardiac Kids did it again, tying it in the 8th on Caminero's 2-run homer, and answering Yankee runs in the 10th and 11th with a pair in the final frame as Westburg's RBI single walked it off.

June 6: vs NY Yankees 2-1 W
. WP-Horton (3-1). Starter-McGee (7 1 1 1 1 13). HR-Caminero (10). McGee gave up a solo homer in the 3rd and nothing thereafter but the Rays were no-hit until Caminero answered with a solo shot of his own in the 7th, and then they did it yet again, walking it off for the third straight night on Doughty's RBI single. This is getting silly.S

June 7: vs NY Yankees 2-3 L
. LP-Klein (1-2). Starter-Sheehan (4 4 1 0 4 7). Well the Rays' luck ran out as the Yankees turned the tables on them, scoring in the 7th to tie and in the 9th to beat them.

June 8: at Houston 3-5 L
. LP-H.Smith (6-2, 5 7 4 4 3 7). HR-Montes (12), Doughty (6). Smith gave up a 3-run homer in the first to Marcell Ozuna and the Rays never recovered from that.

June 9: at Houston 3-4 L. LP-Misiorowski (1-4, 4.2 6 3 3 2 6). HR-Isaac 2 (15). Isaac's pair of homers kept them in it, but the longball killed the Rays again as two Houston homers were the difference.

June 10: at Houston 2-6 L
. LP-Bradley (7-3, 6 4 4 4 1 9, 3 HR). Taj had a rare off-game giving up 3 homers and the Rays weren't competitive in this one as they suffered a sweep in Houston after starting the week with a trio of thrilling walk-off wins.

Team record: 42-24
. The four-game losing streak has allowed Baltimore to within 4 1/2 games of the division lead. Next week: 3 in Cincinnati then we travel home Thursday to play 3 over the weekend against Minnesota.

Players of the Week
:

AL: Jonathan India (TOR), 11-21, 1 HR, 4 RBI
NL: Matt Shaw (CHI), 10-25, 4 HR, 4 RBI

Probably the lowest combined RBI total for the two PotW winners I've ever seen.

MLB News: Star Mets SS Francisco Lindor picked up his 2000th career hit.
