Oh my, we just rolled into September 1974 and Jose Mendez is really struggling. He did just pitch a gem in his last start, but that win only got him back to .500 on the year. It also lowered his ERA to just under 5. Was starting to wonder if Jose would ever show his age. He's 40 now, so the end may be near, but I'm pulling for a second wind.
The Peoria Chiefs are back on top of the Northern Division, but Wisconsion and Dayton are right on their heels.
The Biloxi Shuckers are leading the way in the Southern Division with the Memphis Redbirds close behind.
Bob Horner leads the league with 32 home runs.
