Cards news: Dec. 11 -- Trade bring All-Star CF Harris to St. Louis for top pitching prospect
The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired center fielder Michael Harris II from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for 22-year-old right-hander Mario Alamillo.
The 29-year-old Harris is a four-time All-Star who hit .319 last season for Atlanta with 21 home runs and 97 RBIs.
He broke into the majors in 2022 in during that time is a .293 hitter with 170 home runs and 623 RBIs.
Signed by the Cardinals out of the Dominican Republic, the left-handed Alamillo has shown signs of being a top of the rotation starter.
He did break into the majors in 2030, making 11 starts and going 2-5 with a 5.92 ERA.
