Week 7 Summary

5/10 vs San Francisco (22-16): Barons 4, Seals 3
5/11 vs San Francisco (22-17): Seals 7, Barons 3
5/12 at Memphis (19-21): Barons 3, Lions 2
5/13 at Memphis (19-22): Barons 8, Lions 3
5/14 at Washington (18-23): Grays 6, Barons 5 (12 innings)
5/15 at Washington (19-23): Grays 5, Barons 2

Transactions: Tony Palma is demanding a trade because he's not starting enough games. We don't care.

Standout Batters: You know Frank Wallace? Backup left fielder Frank Wallace? Anyone care about him? Well, anyways, he just played himself into a starting job, batting .500 over a week's worth of starts, and .300 over the year thus far. Jerry Bartlett is demoted to being a utility outfielder playing wherever. Also, Gus Guzman is back from injury, problem is that he sucks again. Bartlett might be finding a spot in the starting lineup soon.

Standout Pitchers: Tony Salgado is an awful closer. He continues to melt down when we need him most. He also got 2 wins this week, because life isn't fair. He gave up 2 runs in the top of the 9th on the 10th, but since Aroyo and Schultz saved him at the last minute, it didn't matter. Sal Morales managed to finally look like his ratings in two starts, Howie Redmond made it through the 6th with his dignity intact, and Jose Aldaco notched another win despite a dreadful start.

AL North Standings
Chicago Blues: 25-19
Milwaukee Coopers: 23-21
St. Louis Spirits: 22-22
Columbus Explorers: 21-23
Cincinnati Centurions: 16-28
Pittsburgh Barons: 13-30

Overview: 3-3, not bad! We even managed to pass Newark in the Power Rankings! Maybe we'll be able to contend for 5th place or so, but we just have to take it week by week.
