Garcia Named FSL Reliever of the Year
St. Lucie, FL — At just 21 years old,
St. Lucie Mets right-hander
Saul Garcia has been voted the
2024 Florida State League Reliever of the Year, earning nine of the ten available first-place votes.
Garcia dominated out of the bullpen this season, logging 5 saves in 42 appearances, striking out 77 batters in 55 innings, and posting a 7–2 record with a 1.31 ERA. His performance anchored the
Mets’ relief corps and made him the clear favorite in this year’s ballot.
Daytona Tortugas reliever
Samuel Perez finished second in the voting, while
Garcia’s teammate
Raimon Gomez placed third, receiving the only other first-place vote.
Bradenton’s Jorge Ramos rounded out the ballot.
