Tortugas Skipper Named FSL Manager of the Year
Daytona Beach, FL — Daytona Tortugas manager Julio Morillo got more than applause at a fan luncheon this week — he got a surprise announcement that left the room buzzing. Mid-speech, the club’s owner cut in to reveal that Morillo had been named the Florida State League Manager of the Year.
The celebration was well-earned. In 2024, Morillo steered Daytona to an 85–47 record and a first-place finish in the East Division, a standout campaign that sealed his first Manager of the Year honor. Players and fans alike toasted the accomplishment, capping a season that will be remembered as one of the franchise’s finest.
