2024 Most Valuable Player Award for the
Florida State League, earning 9 of 10 possible first-place votes. The 20-year-old was a force at the plate all year, posting a stellar .404 batting average and .489 on-base percentage while collecting 129 hits, including 31 doubles, 5 triples, and 23 home runs. He drove in 85 runs and scored 86, anchoring
Daytona’s lineup from start to finish.
Rodriguez finished well ahead in the final voting, tallying 135 points. Teammate
Rece Hinds placed second with the remaining first-place vote and 95 points, while
David Smith of the
Lakeland Flying Tigers finished third with 74. The
Tortugas were well-represented throughout the ballot, with
Connor Burns and
Sal Stewart also placing in the top ten, underscoring the strength of
Daytona’s young core.
