Nathan Lavender has been crowned the
2024 South Atlantic League Reliever of the Year, capping a dominant season that firmly placed him among the league’s elite arms.
Lavender anchored
Brooklyn’s late-inning plans all year, converting 24 saves in 44 relief outings while piling up 67 strikeouts over 50.2 innings. His combination of swing-and-miss stuff and steady command fueled a 1.95 ERA and a 7–5 record, helping
Brooklyn stay competitive deep into games.
Voters took notice.
Lavender earned 8 of 12 first-place votes, finishing well ahead of
Wilmington’s DJ Herz, who picked up the remaining 4.
Jersey Shore’s Tommy McCollum placed third, followed by
Bowling Green’s Jack Snyder and
BlueClaws reliever
Jose Lopez.
