The American Baseball League
It's November 1st, 2009, and the league's 20th season just wound down.
The Oklahoma City Titans participated in their 5th consecutive World Series! Defeated 4 games to 2 by the Kansas City Threshers, who were in their 2nd World Series (this was their first ever win).
From 1990, the NL hit .256, the AL .260 with the NL's ERA at 3.51 and the AL at 3.66, to this year. The NL hit .267 (from a high of .271 last year) while the AL hit 2.68. The NL ERA was 4.71 (all-time high) while the AL was 4.70 (another all-time high).
So it appears offense is on the rise. (I have the settings adjusted per year, and the 1990 season started with 1980 stats and finances.)
Here is a look at the first 20 years of league history.
The Mammoth and Ironmen ran the NL from 1995 through 2001, Baltimore making 3 trips, winning all three, sandwiched around 3 trips from Utah in which they went 1-2.
