Washington SS Danny Dearman, a 3 time all-star and 2 time gold glove winner (2B, and 3B) announced this will be his final season
The 2011 Draft Combine started Saturday. We've got our scouts following our top pitching prospects, a couple of catchers and a slew of middle infielders, mainly shortstops. I'll always lean towards a potential ace unless the bat available is too good to pass up.

MINOR LEAGUE NEWS
Checking in on New Orleans on Monday. Both Dan Ferguson and Brian Pennington were sent down to get starts and innings.
Ferguson has made 2 starts going 15 innings allowing 11 hits to 1 walk and 10 K's with a 1.20 ERA while Pennington has made 4 starts going 2-1 3.62. In 27.1 IP he's allowed 24 hits, walked just 3 and fanned 11 for a 0.99 WHIP.
Also, as of the start of the week top 3B prospect Jose Nieves is hitting .333-7-19 in 18 games fanning 10 times and walking 10. His defensive has been atrocious so not only will we focus on that but he'll likely be asked to go to our Instructional league to hone his craft.
